Introduction
Sri Arvind Mahila College was established in the year 1960. The college is named after the great Indian philosopher Sant Arvindo Ghosh. It was a dream child of great visionary Dr. Krishna Jamaiyar, the founder principal of this college. The college imparts teaching in Arts, Science and Commerce streams along with numerous Vocational and Add- On courses. In the recent past large numbers of career-oriented courses has been started to empower the female sector of the society with marketable knowledge. The college began with 11 students, which has risen to more than 7,000 students today. It has grown rapidly in the last 63 years with the help of dedicated faculty members, staff and sincere efforts of the students put together. The overall performance of the students in the University Exams and the extracurricular activates is noteworthy.
Smart Class Rooms, ICT – based learning resources, Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, separate common rooms and toilets for boys and girls and Divyang Library. The newly constructed Women Hostel with all the basic facilities has been recently inaugurated.
The college has a unit of NSS to educate and serve the society to impart social responsibilities. it has become a constituent unit of Patliputra University, Patna subsequently gained recognition by the UGC under section 2(f) and 12(B). Sri Arvind Mahila college offering various courses in Science, Arts, Humanities and Computer Science at UG and PG levels. Sri Arvind Mahila College is one of the reputed institutions which is well administered and offers good infrastructure, facilities and excellent academic activities in Patna district which is in the state of Bihar and this college excels not only in Academic activities but also in Extra-curricular activities and in Sports too. Students graduated from this college are placed in top level reputed Govt., PSUs and Private organizations. We have all the inbuilt infrastructure and excellent facilities to pursue academic studies and Research.

History of the College
Arvindo Ghose was born in 15th August 1872 and he is known as Sri Aurovindo, was an Indian nationalist, philosopher, yogi , guru, and poet. He joined the Indian movement for independence from British rule, for a while became one of his influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer. He was introduced his visions on human progress.
Sri Aurobindo philosophy is our inspiration. The motto of the college is to empower the students with latest technology to prove their worth in the society for building strong nation. The chief objective of the college, since its inception, has been to shape the young minds with the urge for creativity, spirit of tolerance and scientific temper. To cope with the changing needs of society and economy, vocational courses have been introduced along with conventional courses.
